A workshop entitled "Anthropogenic Nitrogen Impacts on the Open Ocean", planned by SOLAS and INI under the sponsorship of SCOR, NOAA and possibly other organizations, was held at the University of East Anglia, England.
The overall goal of this workshop was to develop a concise but authoritative synthesis of the impact on oceanic processes of the increasing amounts of anthropogenic nitrogen species that are entering the oceanic environment.
