Nitrogen, essential for all life, plays a defining role in global food security. However, its mismanagement in agriculture leads to environmental issues. This side event at the United Nations Environment Assembly stresses the urgency of optimizing nitrogen use to ensure food security, combat pollution, and address climate change. The focus is on making nitrogen visible in multilateral agendas, aligning with SDGs, and promoting international cooperation.
