The
Clean Water Action Plan, the core of the Clean Water Initiative, aims to achieve clean
water by strengthening public health protections, targeting community-based watershed
protection efforts at high priority areas, and providing communities with new resources to
control polluted runoff. This plan is built around four principles to achieve clean water:
watershed approach, strong federal and state standards, natural resource stewardship and
